Emerald and Wizard now have alternative lists that don't involve Rowling

The auto count list on google drive has been updated with them.

Finch's sheet was obviously better than my completely manual sheet, but couldn't count everything. I've made one that counts 99% of everything! (percentage not guaranteed).

It's in Google Sheets. It should work in Excel. I know it works in LibreOffice because that's where I made it. It works by counting up the tags you used on RainbowFic. (This means your tags will have to be accurate, or you can modify them in the sheet.)

You can find it here. It has my information in it currently. Make a copy (File>Make a copy) or download it to fill it out.

I've finally gotten these up. I know there are more suggestions and I'm working on them.

New color: Color Spray
New Style: Cartography
Two new supplies: Parchment and Dice
And an accomplishment for using them: Dungeon Master

I've made a few small changes and some big changes. Small changes first:

• On styles, I added a q&a about making a comic/sketch/illustration when you can't draw
• On the rules/q&a, I added a q&a about abandoning a color list. It's mentioned in the rules but I thought it could stand to be clarified
• Also in the rules, added a mention of gesso next to the mention of mosaic
• In palettes I replaced Pumpkin with Spiderweb in the Haunted House palette

The big changes:

More accomplishments! I haven't made generic banners for them yet, but everything after Prototype is new. I was trying to include the supplies and styles that weren't in other accomplishments and add some easier ones. The rainbowlist spreadsheet and the accomplishments checklist, both available in the google drive folder, have also been updated

Due to the discussion we had about tabletop roleplaying game sourcebooks and Mosaics, I've made a new supply.


A piece that uses the setting, minor characters, or other aspects of a canon of someone else's invention to tell an original story with original characters. See Q&A for examples of acceptable amounts of borrowing.

Q&A

• This was designed to allow the use of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) sourcebooks, but other media sources are allowed. The bulk of the story must be original.
• So I can write fanfiction, right? Not exactly. This isn't a fanfic community, so the bits you borrow should be a minor.
• Can I use homebrewed ttrpg content? Yes.

I've also made a wip page with examples for gesso and mosaic -  - I'd appreciate comments and critique before I finalize it.

In regards to tagging, there are a few things you can do:
- not change anything and tag things as gesso from now on
- only change it in your personal records
- add gesso and !needs tags to appropriate pieces or let me know in the comments here what you would like changed

Due to the nature of the addition, no prototype achievement for it will be awarded. Gesso has been added to the tags on rainbowfic

As I said on the discord, I'm making a weekly post (more or less) where people can ask questions about how things work. This includes 'does this supply or style count for this?' and 'what are the limits on this?' This is also a place for suggestions, including games, colors, styles, etc.

There are a good amount of things that have fuzzy limits or definitions and that's okay. You're allowed to use your judgement of how to use a list, supply, style, etc. But I also want to acknowledge that not everyone is comfortable with ambiguity and that some people need more concrete answers. So this is where to get those (and then it'll be added to the appropriate page). But there are no tag/prompt/writing police here (I don't have energy for that shit)

Anyone can answer (please, if you've been here longer, jump in and help). Please take time to check what the different rainbowlists pages say because they might have the answer, but don't be afraid to ask something that seems obvious: it may be that I need to clarify a description or q&a. Checking the tags on rainbowfic to see how something has been used is also a good way to get answers, or at least precedent.

I'll check these posts at least once a week and I'll be using these as a resource to find things that need to be added or improved in the q&as.
