As I said on the discord, I'm making a weekly post (more or less) where people can ask questions about how things work. This includes 'does this supply or style count for this?' and 'what are the limits on this?' This is also a place for suggestions, including games, colors, styles, etc.

There are a good amount of things that have fuzzy limits or definitions and that's okay. You're allowed to use your judgement of how to use a list, supply, style, etc. But I also want to acknowledge that not everyone is comfortable with ambiguity and that some people need more concrete answers. So this is where to get those (and then it'll be added to the appropriate page). But there are no tag/prompt/writing police here (I don't have energy for that shit)

Anyone can answer (please, if you've been here longer, jump in and help). Please take time to check what the different rainbowlists pages say because they might have the answer, but don't be afraid to ask something that seems obvious: it may be that I need to clarify a description or q&a. Checking the tags on rainbowfic to see how something has been used is also a good way to get answers, or at least precedent.

I'll check these posts at least once a week and I'll be using these as a resource to find things that need to be added or improved in the q&as.

Can we request replays of specific events or temporary prompt lists? If so, where and how?

I would like to absolutely toss some crap at the wall and ask what people would think of the possibility of:

1) alternate prompt lists for the really basic colors (ROYGBV etc.)
2) people bringing up "hey this is such a cool color/name and nobody's touched it ever, maybe we would like to refresh/remake the prompts here" alternate lists maybe for voting?

I like the basic colors for the most part. Violet and Indigo don't fit the theme and imo could be changed (but I don't know if we could make them fit the theme of 'phrases with the color name')

I did enjoy making banners for colors with that theme :)

Speaking of alternates, I did add to Rich Black with the note that people can omit the additions

I am okay with these - I do think a couple of colors are just a bit dated. (Mostly the meme one.)

# on the colors tab is the order they were posted. tumblr is a random order for me to post them to the tumblr. I just updated the number of uses last night. Other things may not be completely up to date, because I've been messing with tags and stuff

Another thing I noticed while looking at unused colors, we have Sex and Sex Work categories for prompt lists and a palette for Sex theme. Would the Sex Work count for those palettes as well? If so I'd suggest adding the theme: sex tag to the ones with theme: sex work as well.

Also considering a ten-prompt sex-themed prompt but I'm not really huge on ideas. My current thought is actions (a hand on their cheek, a gasp in their ear, a slap on their butt, etc) but could use some help brainstorming.

These are both nice - as for names I like Kiss and Tell for the first one (it's sort of a contrast as well) and maybe Red Hot for the second, just as suggestions. It makes sense for red and pink to be the most dominant colors here, I guess.

I'm leaning heavily toward 'chocolate dipped strawberry' for the second. We also definitely need to use 'wild oats' for a sex list.

In the first case, yes, and it'd also be a retouch. In the second case, yes, but you have to pair it with another supply or style as well.

Yet another list I'd love to come up with is one specifically for polyamorous relationships of various sorts, but I have absolutely no idea of any sort of color for that. So as of now it's just a thought.

Come to think of it maybe it'd be better to wait until after the 11 years event is done and then maybe arrange it as a custom color for an event, if you'd be interested. Maybe from start of Feb to end of March, since Multiamory March is a thing and could be a source of some prompts for it.

Might be worth brainstorming about.

Yeah, that's fine, I figured including March would be good since the other event we're running is going down in March. I'll have to talk to my co-mods at polyamships though. (There is fic there but original stuff is allowed and I'd really love to encourage more of it, since I think I'm the only person right now who's posted any.)

A lot of the list names are only vaguely related to the theme, so feel free to go wild. Maybe try to make it a hue we don't have a ton of (so not green)?

No, sorry. Any of the sources that are specific prompts (brush, acrylics, watercolors, etc) aren't eligible for the more generic sourced ones (modeling clay, oils, and palette knife)

Can these overlap with Brush, Acrylics, etc? Sorry, no. These should be from other sources.

From the Q&A:
What does 'updates regularly' mean exactly? We don't want to use extremely old prompts for those supplies. It should be from a source that updates at least monthly or has updated no more than two months ago.
If I have a piece that used a daily or weekly supply, how late can I post it? We know writing takes time and the muse can be fickle. You can use a prompt that is current to when you started writing or when you post it (not both).
