Summer Olympics Event
Hello, Rainbowficcers! We have some business to take care of.
First of all, Kon-Mari technically ended on June 20th, but since the mods (and by the mods I mean me) were busy (and by busy I mean was a total flake), we are extending it to today, with a special two-week amnesty period. You have until July 9th to finish any of the challenges or your goals. Post here to claim your novelty beads!
Secondly, this summer we are having our own RainbowFic Summer Olympics!
Events are as follows.
Opening Ceremonies, July 1st - July 8th: Post a Canvas story. Receive a novelty bead for a story 0-500 words, and an extra bead for every extra five hundred words.
Pentathalon, July 9th-July 16th: Use five supplies in the same story. Five novelty beads, plus one per extra supply used.
Gymnastics, July 17th-24th: Flip and contort your way into including as many novelty beads as you can into a single story. Get a new one for every novelty bead you use!
Rhythm Gymnastics, July 25th-31st: Write a poem. Get a novelty bead!
Sprinting, August 5th-7th: SWL's annual prompt draw! We'll explain the details of this one as the time grows closer.
Shooting/Fencing/Boxing, August 8th-15th: Write a story where someone is shot/stabbed/punched. Receive a novelty bead for a story 0-500 words, and an extra bead for every extra five hundred words.
Halftime (I know the real Olympics don't have halftime but ours do), August 16th-23rd: Lillith Faire. Again, more details as the time grows closer.
Lap Swimming, all summer: Write the same story four times, as a miniature, a 500-1000 word story, a 1000-5000 word story, and a 5000-10k story. Earn ten novelty beads for completing the entire event.
Hurdles, all summer: Give another author a saturation to write. They will give you one as well. Whoever finishes first, wins the match. Ten novelty beads for the winner, five for the second-place.
Synchronized Swimming, all summer: Pick a partner and do some interactive art! Receive a novelty bead for a story 0-500 words, and an extra bead for every extra five hundred words.
Triathalon, all summer: Over the course of the summer post a miniature, a portrait, and a mural. Earn ten novelty beads for completing the entire event.
Closing Ceremonies, August 24th-31st: Write a Frame story. Receive a novelty bead for a story 0-500 words, and an extra bead for every extra five hundred words.
And of course, we haven't forgotten our two annual challenges. This year's special color, Olympic Gold! Earn ten novelty beads for completing this during the Olympics event.

This year, get bonus points for using a canon other than Star Wars or Pacific Rim. Five novelty beads for 2500 words, plus an extra novelty bead for every 500 words more, additional bonus novelty beads for using different canons to be determined.
