Today, we begin Cloisonnism, the second art movement and seasonal challenge of 2013. Just like with Futurism, you can participate by setting yourself a challenge for the season. Your challenge may range from a word count to a number of colors done to a certain number of styles or supplies completed to a combination of these. Once you've chosen your challenge, comment here so that it's recorded, then go ahead and get started. You can sign up through April 18 (since I totally forgot to post this the last couple of days), though your goal accomplishment starts to count April 1 regardless of when you sign up.

Cloisonnism runs from today, April 3, through Sunday, June 23. We will have an Amnesty Week from Monday, June 24, through Sunday, June 30; if you're behind, that's your chance to catch up. More details on Amnesty Week will be announced when we get there.

Because I really want to write longer things, I think my goal will be a Saturation Tapestry, two of which should be over 5k words.

I'm probably going to regret this. :)

Also, for poetry month, I want to do a "poetry tapestry" (though poetry isn't a style so I know it doesn't count as a tapestry.

... Can I lodge a formal request for poetry to be a style?

=) Brief insight into the modly workings: very few decisions are made by a single person, and most decisions involve discussion among all the mods. We don't like to make unilateral decisions, since we all run the joint. Pretty much the only time you'd get an immediate yes-or-no answer is if we're all online, available, and reach a fast consensus or if we've discussed the issue before. So right now we're talking it over.

My goal is to finish Bone Black, Fire Opal, and Sulphur.

My goal is to finish Iceberg along with one more additional color.

My goal is to finish Cloud White (which will also finish off the Weather palette for me). Seven pieces. *fingers crossed*

-Do a Paint-by-Numbers list

I take it Amnesty Week would also cover previous challenges, such as Iceberg? (Yes, that's how behind I am.)

Amnesty Week only covers challenges that run during that particular Art Movement. So Iceberg won't be covered, but the color we'll do in May will, and the April Fool's, Passover, and Easter challenges will all be covered. If you started Iceberg as a list, you can finish it whenever; it doesn't stop being active just because the challenge is over. (It was covered under the Amnesty Week that ran last week if you were going to try to get Novelty Beads for it.)

But that's fine: I'll just do it as a Saturation anyway, without fulfilling any challenges--just means I need to bump off the last bits of Ember.

You can always have it be a personal challenge for this time around, if you'd like.

It would. If you feel it's sufficiently challenging to yourself, it would count for Cloissonnism, which means you'd qualify for the twenty Novelty Beads on completion.

Okay. I'm going to ramp this challenge back a bit, and just set a goal to clear out the three paint-by-numbers lists I currently have and to meet all the challenges set during Cloissonnism.

Easy one this time. I hope. I'm going to finish my 2 Paint by Number lists. ^^
And finish the Easter and Impromptu Spring challenge.

I'm going to try to finish Captut Mortuum. That's 7 pieces.

Someday my schedule will be clearer so I can set myself bigger Art Movement goals XD
