In honor of rainbowfic's second anniversary, we're challenging the community to write stories of 500 or more words in second person.

Any style is acceptable- ever wanted to write a choose your own adventure? Your story just needs to use second person and posted by January 7th.

Sign up by leaving a comment in this post with your goal—make sure it's a challenge for you! It can be a word count, number of prompts, lists you want to finish, plotpoints you want to reach. Whatever keeps you happy and on your toes.

Sign-ups are open from now until January 15th. You will have until March 20th to complete your goal. Meeting your goal gets you twenty novelty beads, and exceeding your goal by one third or one quarter (whatever's easier to calculate) gets you five more.

Additionally, you may have three novelty beads from SWL's personal stash for every material or style you use for the first time.

"second person" Ohoho. Many moons ago my Creative Non-Fiction professor told us it was impossible to write a decent story in second person. So I wrote one. And got a goddamn A.

Anyway! Surrealism: 12 total stories, 15K total words.

I'm made of fail and keep failing my challenges, so I'm gonna stick to simple--

Surrealism: Finish a color. Post two verses I've never put up on here.

Also yes second person challenge. I will need to try and get around to do this because that is my favorite. :D

I will complete the following Saturations: Heart Gold, Vermillion, Dandelion Yellow, Crystal, Gules, Marshmallow White, Latte, Lemon, Or, Cherry Blossom Pink, and Chocolate Brown.

I also epically failed Luminism. So basically repeating:

--Complete at least 3 saturations
--Complete a mixed media
--Write at least one Institute Files story
--Finish all colors I currently have open (Transparent, Fake Blood Red, Skyblue Pink with Striped Polka Dots) and the other PBN I have (Fuzzy Wuzzy)
--Participate in all challenges
--Average 3 pieces a week

I'm going to take it easy on Surrealism since I'm all bright and shiny and new. Write four pieces and review four pieces. I'm going overseas for all of February, so I think a lighter goal might be the most sensible. :p

Finish Dirt Brown
Finish Bittersweet

Both of those are for The Manor story, so I guess I'll be writing a bunch of that.

(If I get that accomplished, next would finishing Spirits of Saturn, which is for the Under the Boardwalk story, which it would be nice to get back to...)

December was a terrible month. Let's try this again.

-At least three more plotty fics in All Great Things.
-At least three more plotty fics in Asking for Roses.
-One self-contained short story with a start-to-finish plot.
-Three Illustrations. Comics count if I decide to try something ridiculous.

So, seeing I didn't manage to sign up for Luminism :-( I'm gonna sign up for Surrealism :-) It's about time I get back into writing and reading and posting. ^^

So, Surrealism:
Finish the bichromatic Skylight and Salmon and its tapestry.
Finish Lilypad Green and Pearls of Wisdom.
Finish a Blush Saturation.
Finish Dandalion Yellow.

As for the I'll have seconds, I'm gonna try and write at least 5. ^^ Can I also count that as a goal for Surrealism? ^^

-Start and complete Arc 13
-Reach 10 sketches
-Post at least two illustrations

I think you can tell I'm doing an art challenge elsewhere. Also dammit, no more of this taking months to finish an arc thing for me!
