I know I've been scarce around ere but hopefully the new year will change that and I will be scrawling out a lot more.

Your characters are adorable and endearing. It makes me happy to read about them. Even when they hork up hairballs.

OK, /especially/ when they hork up hairballs.

You may have been scarce, but I looked forward to your stories all the more for it. I think you write Molly and Annabelle so intelligently, to the point where it doesn't even bother me to read about them, except in the sense that I feel so terrible for them. Also, Percival might be my favorite character ever?

Fitting that one of my favorite stories of yours is this one. It's just so... clear about what a writer is and does and how one would cope with the apocalypse.

I really love how you manage to make all your characters seem like real people, even (especially?) when they're making really dumb decisions. I'm a huge history fan, too, so it's a real delight to read the Mondian Chronicles and play spot-the-historical-inspiration. :D I think this is my personal favorite of your stories; I think it showcases your strengths.

I love the way you play with court intrigue, and the way you maintain distinct character voices. I love how you can make me feel at least stirrings of sympathy for fairly despicable characters. I know I don't comment much, but I do read a lot. ^_^

Because giving love to you is SO HARD. :D

Where do I even start? You're fabulously imaginative, with the most awesometastic descriptions I've ever read. Your characters leap off the page and sometimes start strangling people (sometimes start having sex with them, Zephyr) and are just so vividly real. I just love reading your stories; it's almost like hearing someone read aloud to me. With a hot chocolate voice. With whipped cream on.

Am I allowed to pick this as my favorite, or is that too egotistical? I can't help it, I just adore the way you write Jack and his sisters, and them interacting with Zephyr and Pip brings warm fuzzies to my heart. But if I can't pick that, then thiiiiis fuck yeah this, THAT LAST LINE I still remember it.

Your hand with description is amazing, with countless little turns of phrase that capture the perfect "yes, that" sense of resonance. Without a doubt you do the best delicate worldbuilding I've read, with everything shown and never told, and it's matched only by your skill with characterization.

As for favorites, do I really have to choose? For right now, I'll pick this, for superlative telepaths and surreal sensory porn and asexy snuggling.

Meh, like I said to Charley, it just increases the anticipation. :D

I am both... really pleased and rather sad that you write so well about depression, because I feel like anyone who writes THAT well about it knows what it's like from the inside, and that's not something I'd wish on anyone. But at the same time you capture it so well, all the darkness and the insidious voices and the cruel things people say. Actually, you have a really keen eye for the darker side of humanity, from grief and loss to rage and hatred, and yet you manage to leave hope clear on the other side.

I think this is my favorite of your stories, for all those reasons.

We will wait patiently, don't worry, bb. <3

Ugh, where do I start with you? You write James and Mort so well, to start; they feel like genuinely real people to me (and I for one would like to hang out with both of them. James and I could cuddle and Mort and I could watch TV. IT WOULD BE AWESOME). Everything just... works. I know how much effort you put into your writing because I've seen you actually writing and yet the final product doesn't seem as if you put any effort into it at all-- which is meant to be a compliment; you make it look easy.

This will probably always be my favorite but mostly because it makes my inner librarian shriek with joy. But this is a close runner-up, along with anything involving rainbow bubbles, because OH JAMES.

You are new, but you're a delightful addition! Your talent with mythic descriptions and mythic stories is really evident, and you're also really good at infusing affection and emotion into a scene. I like all of your stories so far, but I think this one is my favorite so far. The description is pretty much perfect and the creepifyingness comes through so well.

PLEASE POST MORE BECAUSE WHAT YOU POST RULES.

Ahem. You took a very divergent group of characters and still made them seem like they belong together as part of a singular narrative in "Unusual Florida". You made all of those disparate people worth caring about and their lives real down to these heartbreakingly clear little details.

I am really looking forwards to the novel!

Fashionably late! That's what it's called.

Your writing blows my MIND. I mean, I look at your universe, where dead void-predators are trains and empaths are weapons and ART IS NOMS. And I'm just- this is what I want to be when I grow up, mommy!

But, it's more than what you write. It's how you approach it. Even the little details are surreal, but then again, even the BIG ONES seem natural. They all fit together in this way that's surprising, but natural.

You have a good thing going and I hope it goes for a very, very long time.

Two of my favorites!

There is always love for you.

It's a bit hard to say this, but I am really blown away by how... mm... accepting isn't the right word, but I've seen that whenever someone has something to say about your writing, you accept it with an extremely rare grace. You're smart and kind and friendly, and that all comes through so clearly in your writing. I think this story (which I haven't commented on yet, bad me) and this one, which are so full of friendship, trust, and compassion, even though the first one involves violence, that... idk. It's wonderful to read.

I am always astonished by your plots. Your grasp of politics and serial killers in Feredar is so cool, especially the politics: I can barely follow them myself and here you are writing up whole new twists and turns. Your foreshadowing in both Feredar and Lux is fabulous. And I don't even know how you even thought of the Institute, let alone had the guts to kill off the character in that one story... I'll link it, here, this one. That's one of my favorites that I've read of yours. And also this one. And also this one. So hard to choooose.

Yooooou oh man. I have loved your stories from the beginning. You don't shy away from the hard stuff, but your stories always have this edge of hope in them, like everyone might die and there might be so much pain but there's always light somewhere, there's always something going to be okay. It's a wonderful message and one I love hearing. And also, I can't not love my porn buddy. :D

Favorites are hard to pick, but I suppose if I had to choose: this one, and this one, and this one!
