Rule 3 has been adjusted for accessibility

Hello, everyone!

We just want to let you know that we've changed the code in Rule 3 (which you can use to black out or grey out your warnings, if you so choose) to be accessible to screenreaders. We'd like to thank [personal profile] alexconall for bringing it to our attention.

The major change with the new code is that it has a link that can be used to skip past the warning text (for people who think of warnings as potential spoilers or for those who just don't care). As the code is currently written, it will place the link to skip the spoiler on one line, the greyed-out spoiler on the next, and the landing spot for the link on the following line. You can, of course, adjust it so everything is on one line, if you so choose.

We do ask that you use the screenreader-accessible code from here on; it's the considerate thing to do, and it falls under Rule 12: Be excellent to one another. You do not, of course, have to grey out or black out spoilers if you don't want to, and you can change the color of the bar obscuring the spoilers and the spoilers themselves. The accessibility is all we ask.

Thank you, and many thanks to [personal profile] alexconall for bringing this to our attention!

(no subject)

Hi, everyone!

We've noticed that doing Summertime Blues as a lint roller has gotten popular, and that's very cool. We'd like to clarify, though, that it doesn't count as Graffiti. While it did originate in a mod's journal, it's not a game run in the lounge; it's something people do in their own journals.

If you've tagged one of these as Graffiti and it doesn't otherwise fit a Lounge game or challenge, please comment here so we can take the tag off. All comments are screened. Thanks.

Mod Note

We've noticed that some people have started using hooks or leaders of bits of fic before cuts. Some have gotten long enough to sort of defeat the entire purpose of a cut.

Your header may be as long as it needs, including summary and notes. When it comes to fiction outside the cut, however, we're going to ask that you limit it to two sentences at the very most, preferably one.

Thank you.

Questions and comments on the rules

Hi guys!

We've had some questions and confusion regarding rules lately, so we'd like to ask: do you have any questions, comments, or requests for clarification as regards the rules? If so, we'll answer here and potentially reword the rule in question.

Rule added

We've added a thirteenth rule regarding disciplinary action to the rules post. It's reproduced below.
13. In the event of a major infraction, such as not being excellent to each other or refusing to note that one does not use trigger warnings when one has been notified of the presence of a trigger, the mods will issue one warning. If another infraction occurs within three months, a one-week temporary ban will be issued. If there is a third infraction within three months, the ban will be permanent. Major infractions are at the mods' discretion and will be explicitly pointed out, rather than letting the member wonder what they might have done wrong.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to bring them up in the comments to this post.
