Questions and comments on the rules

Hi guys!

We've had some questions and confusion regarding rules lately, so we'd like to ask: do you have any questions, comments, or requests for clarification as regards the rules? If so, we'll answer here and potentially reword the rule in question.

As the asker of one of those questions, I just wanted to take a moment out to thank you for answering all of my headscratchy whoyerwhat. Since I know I'm a fairly steady source of that.

I've converted both of the saturations in question to tapestries, btw and LEMMETELLYOU I enjoyed having that option available.

RIGHT? I'm doing that with Giantfic, and oh man is it better than trying to write it as a Saturation.

Do you think we should clarify any of the rules in question with a rewrite, or just include it in the FAQ?

I was about to say- Oh, I'm the only person who will ever ask /that/.

And then I realized that was a filthy lie. So, FAQ. Definitely.

I basically use tapestries to tell serial fiction and it's awesome. Tapestries are the best.

That's what I'm doing with Elvish Green and Giantfic. I did it last year for a different AU and covered most of the big events from it in thirty fics written in a planned order. It's fun.

I tried to do saturations the way I saw other people doing them and basically in no way am I patient enough for it. SO TAPESTRIES IT IS.

I do love saturations, admittedly, but Giantfic is shaping up to be 65,000 words (it's already 55,000), and that's... definitely too much for a saturation, even split into three or five posts. (I'd have to split it for readability and character limits.) So it's gonna be an eraser tapestry instead!

Hmm, well, I just saw this in your response to Ysabet...

"Saturations do not count toward your completed color list totals, and likewise, you do not need an open list slot to complete a Saturation."

Not that it made any difference to me (I have four active color lists now, and that's the most I've ever had at one time!) but I had no idea this was the case. So maybe that information should be somewhere other than in a comment response!

No question, just a note that the image for Retouch is KILLING ME.

=D When Geena (I think; might have been Sara) found it, the others of us went, "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT." And decided it had to be the one used.
