Winter RP: The Citadel
It's late afternoon, just approaching evening, and one of the less-imposing reception rooms in the Citadel at the heart of the City of Glass is lit up by a glorious sunset. The dry heat of the desert day is starting to die off; the temperature sits at a pleasant level now.
The walls of the room are made of thick, solid glass panes, in deceptively delicate white stone frames. They are punctuated at regular intervals by wall hangings embroidered with intricate geometric patterns, in green and gold. There is a large, extravagant rug, woven in similar colors, covering the floor. The ceiling, high above, is more glass, fogged, and gilded around the edges to match the gold in the tapestries.
One wall is dominated by a pair of double doors that swing open onto an enclosed pleasure garden, with carefully maintained flowers climbing the walls and a murmuring fountain in the center. There are white gravel paths marking out four regular quadrants.
The portals are opening once again...

Re: The Space Witch
The woman with ribbons in her hair looked interesting-- she had a knife and a gun, anyway, and didn't look like she was going to use either, so there had to be a story there. Kayleigh went over to her, shuffling in her sister's too-big ballet flats.
"Hi," she said. "New to this? I'm Kayleigh."

She's picked up a pall from seemingly nowhere, rolling it between her hands and making a quiet humming noise as she does. She's not doing anything malicious, just recharging her little toy with her own energies. It's a muli-purpose little thing that she happens to favor more than anything else she has on her.

"Things shift," she explains after a moment. "They are fluid and always changing. I've been in situations where doors don't do what I expect, but I've never been here. It's interesting."

She cocked her head again, looking at the Witch. "Do doors think? I mean, I wouldn't think so, but I guess they were alive once."

"Well, it depends on the door, now doesn't it?"She grins a little, having fun with this. "But no, most doors don't seem to have many opinions. I have a few that do though."

She should possibly explain that the doors she's used to having opinions are her ship's and she is well aware that not everyone happens to have a sentient ship that can, on occasion, have an attitude.
But this is so much more fun.

"I have literally never been anywhere that's sentient. I don't think places are sentient where I live."
