How's Our Modding?

Good evening, writers!

Rainbowfic is one year, eight months, and four days old today!

Look, no one ever said the mod in charge of these posts was punctual, okay.

ANYWAY, in honor of this anniversary, we thought we'd take the time to ask you how you think we're doing. Are you comfortable in the community? Do you enjoy the challenges? Is there anything you'd like to see us doing differently, or not doing at all? Any other suggestions or comments?

Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

As always, if you prefer to leave a screened comment, you can do so at our Dial-a-Mod post. Our contact info can also be found in [personal profile] rainbowmods' Meet the Mods posts.

I just have to say, I think you all are doing a great job and I love the community. :)

This community is the only thing that's honestly gotten me writing again in a very, very, very long time. It's keeping me motivated, and inspiring me at the same time.

So, yay for rainbow fic! Yay for 1 year, eight months, and four days! Here's hoping it's here for many, many years to come. :)

Happy nearly biennial, [community profile] rainbowfic!

The only qualms that I have with the community since I joined have been dealing with keeping up in reading new posts and leaving thoughtful comments -- I don't want to leave any "hey neat" replies to something that a writer has obviously spent time on! Other than that, I have been enjoying reading along as people post new updates to their various challenges. I love the huge variety of challenges available and the infinite ways in which one can mix and match to draw inspiration.

I love that the lounge appears to actually be a trove of useful information! Going back through the promotions tag, for example, netted some really cool links to author-based programs and communities.

I'd love to see some thoughts on creating short pieces that are ongoing but can be jumped in on at various points. I see the community naturally gravitating towards character studies frequently because these seem to both be good hooks and good advertising for later work featuring that character... but resources or discussion (or both!) on what makes good very short pieces (microfiction? Is there a proper term for this style of writing?) would be very helpful to a non-professional like me!

Just to say this comm is awesome and you are doing a wonderful job modding it! ♥
And I just wish I had more time to read everything posted here. And to write a little more myself... *sweatdrop*

I love this community. It's really gotten me to writing more. The challenges especially help. Plus I don't think I would've nearly gotten the amount of worldbuilding that I've done without this place existing.

Uh, I asked Kat this and she said to ask it here:

Is the list of which colors count as "any pink", "any brown", etc, going to be posted publicly soon? I'd like to do some of those palettes. :-)
