Writers' Salon!
All right, guys, let's get this started.
This is a post for members to post their burning questions to each other. They can be simple, like "when is Character X's birthday," or not so simple "how would you define the relationship between Character X and Character Y?" If there's a story you want that author to talk about, throw in the title (and some points you'd like covered!) and if said author's willing, they can write their answer in a separate post, since I have no idea what the comment word limits are.
Here's how it'll work: an author who's up for answering questions/writing commentaries about stories will leave their name in a comment. Readers who want to ask questions or request stories reply to that comment, and hopefully we'll have some good conversations going!
If you guys request stories, it may be best if you limit them to
rainbowfic for the time being, unless the story you've got archived outside the comm is in a public entry.
EDIT: If it's not already obvious, you can ask authors more than one question in however many comments you like. The point is to have a discussion, and it wouldn't be very lively if it stopped at one question per author! Just give the author a chance to finish answering your previous questions, of course.

re: winter: mainly how you decided to have Summer as the Snow Queen, although how you managed to integrate everyone else in your canon in the plot is something else I'd like to know too. The first bit is mainly because out of the Snow Queen retellings I've read, it's either "Gerda leaves Kay and finds a guy who likes her" or "Gerda and the Snow Queen become friends and leave Kay out to dry." I haven't seen a story where everyone lives happily ever after.
Actually, now that I think about it, I'd like to know how you got the idea to have that sequel bit in that AU, too, because it was a terrific idea.

Now. winter.
*deep breath*
It began like this. Nikki prompted me with Summer/Zack/Felipe and the Snow Queen in that fairy tale meme, and right away I knew that one of them would have to be the Snow Queen, since the story as is does not lend itself to an OT3. I knew that I wanted it to be Summer, too, but I also knew I didn't want it to be like... her Asperger's blocks her away from other people omggggg. So. No. She still has Asperger's, which is less evident in the story than I wanted it to be. She's still autistic; being possessed by the Snow Queen didn't change that in any way. This element of the story was also a little bit inspired by Mercedes Lackey's The Snow Queen, but more in the concept that there were two Snow Queens, and maybe one of them wasn't malicious.
Everyone else integrated themselves into the plot. I had nothing to do with that part. I think I thought it would be fun to replace some of Hans Christian Anderson's random helpful characters with people who actually had a stake in getting Summer out of the Snow Queen, and then EVERYONE piled in. Pushing and shoving.
The sequel bit was entirely inspired by the picture. Seriously. There was nothing more to it, although I feel like there should have been. XD
