Good evening, writers!

Rainbowfic is now seven months old! Hurray!

In honor of this... two-week-old anniversary, we thought we'd take the time to ask you how you think we're doing. Are you comfortable in the community? Do you enjoy the challenges? Is there anything you'd like to see us doing differently, or not doing at all? Any other suggestions or comments?

This is an amazing community. I've never felt so comfortable and yet motivated to write here, especially with the challenges (even though I'm crap at finishing them!)

Also, the RPs. For the love of all that is good and pure, keep doing them. I have so much fun putting out my characters and playing with others'. It's cheered me up during bad times, and I don't know what I'd do without them.

((One quick thing (though I was able to contact Kat directly about this this specific time), could you spell out a procedure for submitting color lists? I know it's not just mods who can make them up (since not all the ones on rainbowlists are made by you guys), but I couldn't figure out how to submit the ones I came up with until I was able to catch Kat earlier.))

The only reason I don't do a lot of the challenges is that I'm in my own little world.

I'd kind of maybe like more chit-chat about writing posts in the lounge, but that's like putting extra whipped cream on the sundae at this point and mostly a result of me being compelled to offer at least some suggestion. And liking whipped cream.

I honestly feel I have grown as a writer just in the little time I've been here. I've also made new friends and gotten to know the friends I had before better. This pleases me quite a lot.

And you know I hadn't done anything resembling RP since, ah, that thing I emailed subluxate about.

Hmmm, bouncing off of the writing posts--what if we had something going on in the lounge, where we could ask readers to give us titles of stories and any burning questions they'd like to see answered in the writing process? And then we write posts about those stories?

I guess it's because I don't feel motivated on my own to write freetalks, but if I knew what people wanted to know about, I'd be more than happy to write about it? Just a suggestion, at any rate.

And the threads for each person taking questions could be sorted like: "Sit on the couch with X".

...that sounds awesome. Do you want to run it or should I or maybe one of the other mods wants to take it... *MULLMULL*

I am interested in just about anything any other writer has to say about what they do, honestly.

Yeah, something like that. I dunno what the word limits on comments are; the original idea I had in mind was that there would be a post people could leave their names on, and readers could reply in comments with questions/stories that they wanted author's notes on, etc. And then maybe the author could make a post (or posts) answering those questions?

I could run it, if that was OK with the mods; maybe the comment system would be better for Q&A, and if readers wanted more in-depth commentary on stories, they could leave titles.

Actually, I do have some story commentaries on what I've written in ironplumblossom (/shameless self-promotion).

tl;dr: this needs to be done not just yesterday, but last week.

I think you guys are doing a good job. I really like the RP. It's pretty fun to put my characters in different worlds and places. ^^

I just want to say that I really love this community. I'm very comfortable here. I love the way things are done, and I'm really enjoying several stories.


Also: I have a couple of questions. I have an idea for a color. Could I make one and share it with you mods? And how many stories are we allowed to write for the comm?

You can definitely make a color! Either PM it to the mod account (rainbowmods) or one of the mods, or you can leave it as a comment in a post on the mod account.

You can write as many stories as you please. I've written over 200, personally; keep going as high as you want. Per day, we ask no more than about five, and try not to post them all at once. Other than that, absolutely no limit. Every 100 gets you a banner, so you can comment on the Completion post (in rainbowlists) and get one after a mod makes one.

Re the stories: I meant main stories. Right now I have Surely Someday and Addictions, but I'd like to bring over one that I had at runaway_tales. Would that be okay?
