I haven't entirely decided if I'm going with ex-men (my first inclination) or un-men for the super-powered mutants (as opposed to those who get their superpowers from something)

Joel was diagnosed with Andersons Tremors after anaphylaxis from a bee sting when he was 10. He still mostly has minor symptoms, with unsteady hands, difficulty concentrating and reading the most common symptoms. He will also stutter and have vertigo and weakness when stressed. He generally wears gloves with flexible rods in the fingers to steady his hands.

* he says that romantically, he’d like someone to spoil him at home and just relax with, but he ends up dating extroverts and going to concerts, theme parks, outdoor stuff, and other exciting events.
* Learned to cook fairly well from Quigley, the Tyelu-Burton cook/housekeep. Tends to avoid things involving sharp knives. He likes to make pizza with premade crust, but also makes a mean chili.
* Hobbies include RC planes, helicoptors, and cars; drones; and rollerskating
* Prefers to type rather than write by hand
* taught himself to be ambidextrous, but better with his right
* likes to wear make-up and usually has on nail polish

Andersons Tremors
Progressive autoimmune disorder. The cause is unknown. It's initiated by a severe allergic reaction, usually anaphylaxis and shows up a day to a week later. It's slowly degenerative - a sufferer may have only mild tremors for years and then it'll worsen. Allergic reactions will generally cause an increase in symptoms.

Early symptoms (in approximate order that they show up) are tremors in the hands and voice, stuttering, weakness and unsteadiness in the legs and arms, vertigo and balance problems. As it progresses symptoms include nightmares, anxiety, difficulty reading due to eye jitters, difficulty concentrating, difficulty walking and standing, dyslexia-like symptoms (difficulty spelling, mixing up words, mispronouncing words), and loss of motor control. Late symptoms include forgetfulness, dementia, physical instability, difficulty swallowing, tics, and compulsive behavior.

Alcohol and weighted clothes can help with the tremors. The tremors may disappear when concentrating, especially in the early stages. Caffeine and stress may make symptoms worse without the disease progressing.

I really need to make one of these for some of my long-standing WIPs. Right now I'm going by ear and I have a feeling I'm going to end up contradicting myself. I've just been taking notes and putting them in the documents themselves.

Yeah, it can help if you're doing a bunch of stories. I think Scrivener can keep notes about stuff. I know the freeware alternative YWriter can (because I use it), but I prefer to have a wiki (I use tiddlywiki because it's one file, but it has a bit of a learning curve)
