Our next challenge, from 2014, is the one, the only, TV Tropes Game!

Leave a comment on the post and I will leave you five random tropes from TV Tropes. Use two in a story and get five novelty beads. Of course, if you feel up to a challenge, you can use more than two. You'll get an extra novelty bead per trope used.

The game will run from today, March 11th, to Tuesday, April 11th. You can get a new set of tropes after you've posted the first story-- there's no limit to the number you can get except your own writing speed. You can also mulligan, but it's more fun if you give it a shot.

If you get a trope that is racist, sexist, ableist, whatever, and don't want to use it, let me know and I will redraw one for you (since a mulligan would be an entirely new draw of five tropes). If a trope would be triggery for you, same thing goes. This should be fun, not painful or hurty, so please don't hesitate to ask!

The mod is not liable for time lost to TV Tropes.

Oooh, and I have an unfinished story that would fit Villains Love Entertainment AND introduces the completely unlikeable* villain Tectrix! Who gets beat to shit at the end by (one of) the villain I love.

* you can tell he's meant to be unlikeable because he's an able-bodied cishet white man...

I have a question about a possibly overly ambitious idea I have. If I write a bunch of ficlets each about a different character, would that count as one story like a miniature collection, or does there need to be an overall theme?

(I'm using this to collate all the bits and bobs and decades old notes or info about the dozens of characters into proper profiles and the ficlets would accompany those. Some of the characters have changed dramatically - my main character has changed gender, sex, ethnicities, and exchanged names with their spouse. This is Not At All confusing when referring to old notes /sarcasm)
