Summer Film Festival
Good afternoon, writers! Today, June 8th, ends Amnesty Week for Dada, but more importantly, it begins a brand new challenge: our summer Film Festival.
The Film Festival runs from today, June 8th, until August 31st. Events begin Monday, June 12th, with Red Carpet.
Red Carpet: A mod will post a picture of an outfit, one a day every day for a week. Write a story inspired by that outfit, however you like to define "inspired." Runs from Monday, June 12th, to Sunday, June 17th. One novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof.
Short Films: SWL's annual dead-time prompts draw! Date TBA but sometime in July. Rewards also TBA.
Lilith Faire: Write stories inspired by songs by and about women. Date TBA but sometime in August. One novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof, plus bonus novelty beads to be further explained later. More details when we begin the event.
Midnight Science Fiction Double Feature: Write a stained glass in a science fiction universe. If your universe is already a science fiction one, it still counts. ALL SUMMER. One novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof.
Indie Film: Write a story about someone you haven't written about in the last six months. Seed beads encouraged but not required. ALL SUMMER. One novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof.
Shojo-ai/Shonen-ai: Write about queer characters. ALL SUMMER. One novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof.
Bollywood: Write a songfic. Old school songfic. ALL SUMMER. One novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof.
Summer Blockbuster: Same as every year. Cross your story over with your favorite action-movie source. Write at least 2500 words, for five novelty beads. Bonus beads if it's not Star Wars. ALL SUMMER.
Special colors! Receive ten novelty beads for completing as a list, five for completing as a saturation, with possible bonuses for, basically, being Finch.

Two questions:
1. Summer Blockbuster: Is there any wiggle room for action tv show sources?
2. Does "per 500 words or fraction thereof" mean per story, or total? (I.E., if I write two 300-word stories and a 400-word story, is that three novelty beads for three stories under 500 words, or two for 1000 words total?)
(Also invisible third question: Do they stack? If I write a stained glass featuring four queer characters I haven't written about in six months, does that count for all three challenges (and therefore 3 novelty beads per 500 words)?)
(EDIT: SUPER SECRET INVISIBLE INK FOURTH QUESTION: For indie film: Does it have to be someone I've written for rainbowfic before, or can it be a character I haven't posted about before and also haven't written for six months?)

1. There is definitely wiggle room! Also apparently you get bonus points if it's Leverage.
2. Per story. So those three stories would net you three novelty beads.
3. They do in fact stack! You may unlock special bonuses for certain combos. :D

Nope, you do not need to wait! You can choose one as a sixth color and use it that way. This applies to all lounge colors that may pop up. It's only one, though. However, if you have four colors and choose to do both, you can still count one of the colors as a special color.
Does that make sense?
