Approximately every three months, we’re going to have a challenge. They very, very roughly correspond to seasonal changes.

Art Nouveau is the first round. (New challenge cycle, get it, huh?) The premise is simple. Set yourself a goal to accomplish from March 1 to May 17. This goal can be a number of colors completed, a word count, number of saturations, a palette—basically, anything that is a challenge to you. On May 17, I’ll post asking for you to comment with your goal and whether or not you completed it (and if you went beyond, by how much).

If you complete your goal, you get twenty randomly-chosen Novelty Bead prompts. If you go beyond your goal, you get another five prompts for approximately every measurable quarter to third (because your goal may not be divisible by four but is by three. For example, your goal is to do three colors, and you do four; then you went beyond your goal by a third).

Please comment here with your goal for Art Nouveau. Feel free to set your goal through March 15; your work toward your goal still starts on March 1, no matter what you set. Work toward your goal is not eligible for Graffiti unless it’s part of a different game or challenge.

I'm going to try for six portraits.

Scratch that, four portraits and the Primary Colors palette.

10,000 solo-written words (because muses are unreliable, and my cowrites are just ungodly sometimes.)

I'm going to try to do one portrait, and either finish the Landscape palette(which means I need a green and a brown), or do the Divinity palette (Angel Cake, Celestial Blue, Lotus, and Sulphur), or both. Hopefully both. Which would be a total of six colors (six and a half, if I also finish Nacre).

I'm going to try to do two Tapestries (Sherry and Vermillion), a Bichrome (Or and Sable), and the rest of the TV Guide Palette (Platinum Blond, TARDIS Blue, and Olive Drab), so that's seven colors (in practice six, because of the Bichrome). I'm adding on three Saturations, colors to be determined, because maybe I did colors the last couple months, but my only Saturation was a cowrite.

I'll challenge myself to finish the two colors/bichromatic that I'm working on (Heart Gold and Tyrian Purple--and yes, with all the other deadlines I have, that's a challenge!), and also use four different Supplies, which can go with different colors.
