Challenge: ALL THE HOLIDAYS AT ONCE
It's true! March is super-exciting this year. So exciting, so full of joy (and pancakes) that the Mod Squad's doing their very best to bring you that same exhilaration of ALL THE HOLIDAYS AT ONCE with this very special game which will run through the 31st. THAT IS RIGHT YOU CAN USE IT FOR YOUR AMNESTY POSTS.
Topics
Please count each one only once for scoring.
Stories must be at least 500 words.
International Women's Day [8th]
--Focus on your female characters as they attain justice in their world(s). Actual justice definitions may vary because some of you love serial killers and that is OK.
Pancake Day [8th]
--Characters eating pancakes. They must discuss the pancakes as they eat them. The weirder, the better.
Pi Day [14th]
--There must be fruit and mathematics in the same story. Pudding counts as a fruit*.
St. Patrick's Day [17th]
--Discuss the spring holiday traditions of your setting. If your story is set in the real world, St. Patrick's day is great! But, chances are a lot of you fantasists have better ideas.
Easter [27th]
--Write some egregious fluff.
Use any other holiday I overlooked in a story
--You can only do this once, but go for it.
Scoring is as follows:
One prompt story: 1 novelty bead.
Two prompt stories: 4 novelty beads.
Three prompt stories: 9 novelty beads.
Four prompt stories: 16 novelty beads.
Five prompt stories: 25 novelty beads
All six with all qualifiers AND all include a party color AND you used a novelty bead you had previously in each one: quiet awe, 50 beads.
The highest score overall will get to advise us on the custom colors for summer (IE, you can tell us what to put on a list and then use it to your own advantage). (Ties welcome!)
If you like and pass 25 beads total, SWL can make you your own Pinterest board. It does mean you'll get pictures. And more pictures.
Remember, our current wordcount challenge ends on the 21st, but then there's that delicious amnesty.
We will not be doing an April Fool's post in favor of a bigger, better, more on fire challenge. We'll update on that next month.
The David Bowie Special Colors are still available: http://rainbowlounge.dreamwidth.org/96164.html?mode=reply
And should be through the end of summer.
Don't forget to vote!
http://rainbowlounge.dreamwidth.org/95892.html?mode=reply
And not just there, if you're USian. Vote often and with pie.
The seasonal rp will be Easter weekend.
* I am aware pudding is actually a protein, I swear.
