The night after Boreas died, Zephyr slept tossed out over his bed, the covers wrapped up half-hazard with the pillows, which wasn't where he was. He woke up a few times, and every one of those times be checked past the blinds to make sure it was still winter.
It was. His skin must have dreamed of summer then. And that was... that was OK.
He didn't cry any more that he had that afternoon.

Notus found out a few days after. Odille broke it to him all private-like. He figured, watching her, she must have gotten a short stick out of someone's draw. Anyway, she seemed relieved when he asked to be alone. He didn't blame her.
Notus buried himself in all the blankets he could steal and sat in the solarium, watching the clouds shift through the glass.
He pretended that he was a cloud.
So, there weren't any tears until the rain started. And then, they passed over him in silence.

Eurus overheard everything: Pirate Jenny and Jibriel didn't whisper well. They didn't even shut their office door.
He ran to the staff washroom, locked himself in the handicapped stall and cried and cried and cried.
For how he'd found out and that there weren't four winds anymore; for how much he hated himself there in not really missing the man underneath the hurt he'd strewn along. Cried for what the hell else he'd have to say to his boys if they would have been with him.
Though they weren't. He cried harder.

It had turned into spring by the time the three of them ended up at the same place.
They stood off to the sides of halls like they were supposed to and Zephyr cracked some horrible joke about the coffee. Notus could only follow along. Eurus maybe tried to pull the conversation around, but every time, he felt he might just swallow his tongue.
Evening came around.
The three of them all just sort of stayed behind as everyone else filtered out of the room.
A long, blue silence dragged in.
"Yeah," said Eurus. "I guess 's now or never."
But, no one touched on what or how or even made a sound.
Zephyr swung off of the glass, ambling Eurus's way. He stood a head shorter than the man, but he still managed to make himself look like he'd put a hole in anybody tried to stop what made up his idea of next.
He grabbed Eurus, yanking him down into a kiss- blistering and twined on until both of their chins were wet and Eurus swore his lips had split.
He stared down at Zephyr.
In the end, he kissed him back. Softer now. Twinged with meaning and welcome and missing and all of the tears he didn't want to shed.
Once that had passed, they made their way over to Notus.
He held his arms out to them. He took their kisses. If they were sloppy, if they were complicated.
They were still kisses.
And still so much easier than anything else they could have said.
With only the three of them left, changing off got awkward and lonely.
They managed.
By the end, they'd at least figured out the twists and turns.
