Welcome to Gate University!
The front doors of the two houses stand open, admitting fresh air and fellow students. Both stand three stories tall. Most of the rooms upstairs have closed doors; in the sorority, one that doesn't--the master bedroom--has a large, locked armoire next to a desk that holds three jewelry-like boxes and a laptop. There are six bathrooms between the three floors. Downstairs in the sorority house, the kitchen has a sprinkling of flour across one of the counters next to a stand mixer. The living room is sprawling, with two long couches and an armchair across from three bookcases holding an assortment of DVDs, BluRays, and books. The TV is a flatscreen mounted to the wall, connected to an assortment of video game systems and a DVD/BluRay player. Another room stands open with a laminated sign taped to the door: "IF YOU ARE NOT A WITCH, YOU NEED SUPERVISION TO ENTER." This room has two long tables with workstations at each: Bunsen burners, metal stands with clamps, and a slab of granite. Each table has a sink, complete with an eyewash . Along the walls are glass cases of what appear to be chemicals, pieces of wood, dried herbs, a variety of salts, sands, vials, and beakers. The fraternity's house is much the same, though its kitchen has coffee grounds sprinkled next to the coffeemaker and more bedroom doors are open.
Both houses open to a large shared garden. It's surrounded by a high wood fence. Herbs like lavender, hyssop, and sage are planted in rows along the sides, with vegetables and fruits in raised beds. In each of the back corners are fruit trees, with roses along the back fence. Containers of plants that would otherwise take over, like mint, are in containers on the patios.
