In the US, at least, the day after Halloween, there tends to be a huge sale on bags of candy. In this here comm, we're going to say that's why we're doing a candy bag exchange on November 1.

Leave a comment with the names of at least one of of your characters and how they dressed for Halloween, and other people will leave you Novelty Bead prompts. Please try to leave prompts for everyone who prompts you. Prompts can be as general or as specific as you'd like.

Next year, Nicoletta will go as a witch. (David will say it wasn't much of a stretch.)

Johnny will only dress up because Lena asks. He'll go as a baseball player.

Martina doesn't wear a costume now that her kids are grown, but she'll give out king-sized candy bars. Favorite house in the neighborhood, right there.

Setsuko is dressed as Go-Go Yubari from Kill Bill, Robin is in a shiny pink bikini with flip-flops and feathered hair, and Iseult is in full-out gunslinger gear.

Kia wanted to do twin outfits so her and Adam will be dressed as pirates. Albert will wear a Victorian Mad Hatter's costume and Susie will be a cat.

Naveed is dressed as Alice in Wonderland; Dor has rigged up a gilt frame around her chair, has a bag of props, and will pose as a portrait when asked; Bitterdin stuck on a pair of bunny ears and a smirk and called it good.

Halloween is the one night a year that Maggie still does goth, so she's a witch in lots of black and lace.

Tay thought about dressing as Xena, but didn't want to do the bare-midriff thing, so instead she's Generic Warrior Lady.

Moira got together with a group of friends to do the Wizard of Oz. She's the Cowardly Lion.

Michael goes as whatever wild thing strikes his fancy. Like, say, the year he dressed up as an actual rainbow. Or the year he went as Tigger, in full costume, for Emily.

Gina Sophia has been Little Red Riding Hood at least twice.

God knows how often Gino has been a soccer player.

David once dressed up as a killer robot with LASER EYES. It was AWESOME. He was six.

I OD'd on pudding yesterday rather than candy. I regret nothing!

This year's costumes (don't feel obliged to leave for them all, but I worked this out for Pumpkingasm, so...).

Maria has on a pair of cat ears. It is completely a costume.

Isabella goes as Minerva McGonagall, because she's totally a badass.

Lea dresses up to pass out candy; Carlos takes the kids trick-or-treating. She's a sorceress.

Ivy was Batman. Ivy is usually Batman.

Aaron was the Fourth Doctor. He enjoys the scarf.

Summer was Natasha Romanova. Apparently catsuits are fun, and even though she has to watch the Avengers with the sound off, she really likes the story.

Gina went as Fiona from Burn Notice. Ten points if you get the joke.

Jake went as the Beast post-transformation, and Olivia was Belle. This was mostly just because Olivia wanted to wear the floofy gold dress and Jake had no objection-- Jake isn't really into Halloween but he is perfectly happy to indulge his girlfriend.

Danny went in Army fatigues and made grunt jokes all night.

Lars went as Thor because Summer asked very nicely.
