Gina shrugged. "They're not all like us, but I don't really understand it either. We're different, that's all." And some religions preached against it-- including the Pope, and Gina felt like a bad Catholic for thinking it, but in this one case, fuck the Pope-- but that would be more difficult to explain. "We're like anyone else. Some good, some bad. We just happen to prefer sleeping with the same sex. But it's not really important. Historical inertia is on our side."

"As for the Serpent Folk... yeah, you really just have to give them time, and everyday interaction with them so they can see they're just people like anyone else. I don't know any other way to do it."
