"I do," Teresa agreed, and she meant it in quite a literal sense. "Eva and Adamo got taken away by their mama. Mama said Julia used something she wasn't supposed to, and Pop thinks she was afraid he'd take them from her. He wouldn't," she said emphatically, "not ever. He would just get her help, like he did before. But we don't know what happened to them. Pop thinks they're okay. I don't know what Mama thinks."
