Bar At The End of the Universe RP
Hello, Lounge!
I like to RP, and I love to drop my characters into new situations to interact with other characters. If any of you do too, I think you may be interested in this game. The official game post will be up on Thursday, April 19, and tentatively run through Sunday, April 22 (depending on how active it is).
Basically, portals are opening everywhere, in every city, state, country, world, universe. If your character steps through one of these portals (opens a door, walks outside, etc) they end up magically transported to Dan's, a bar in present-day Brooklyn, New York, owned by the eponymous Dan. (Dan's is a part of the Polyfaceted 'verse that Kelly, Geena, and Sara write, but you don't need to follow the story in any way to take part.)
They have no idea how they got there. Neither does Dan, but that won't stop him from offering them a drink and a sympathetic ear.
Powers do remain intact, with one minor exception: think of the bar as an interdimensional safe-haven, where your characters can't inflict lasting damage on anyone else. So while they could still levitate a cup with their mind if that's their speciality, or even smack or push someone, they can't shoot or Crucio them, or anything that might kill or injure them for an extended period of time.
That's the premise. What happens next? Who do they meet? It's up to you.
A few guidelines:
--You don't have to create separate journals for your characters (though you can if you'd like), but it would be helpful if you could use an icon approximation for what they look like. It just makes threads easier to follow.
--Threads are self-contained. If character X is talking to character Z, and character Y tags in below to also talk to character Z, those are happening without any knowledge of the other. It's sort of like the second thread, in-universe, doesn't start until after the first is over, even if both are being played simultaneously.
--Now, on the other hand, if you want a three (or more) person thread, that's cool too! Just work out the order of tagging amongst yourselves to avoid confusion. If IM contact isn't available, a small OOC note works just as well (Example: "OOC: Order: character y-character x-character z?" means character x will always tag after y, y will always tag after z, and z will always tag after x.)
--Please stick to writing tags in third person. Either past or present tense is fine.
This is an official game, so participation will of course be rewarded. For every character of yours who stops by and plays, you're entitled to three novelty bead prompts. And, if things go well, for the next game, we will open up a suggestions post so our characters can visit other universes too!
