Resurrection Challenge

Happy spring, authors!

Today is Easter, and Passover began on Friday. In honor of these two holidays, we at Rainbow Fic are hosting a Resurrection challenge. There's two ways you can participate; each gains you graffiti credit for the qualifying piece and a novelty bead. You may certainly write a story for both challenges, but the same story cannot qualify for both challenges: you must write two stories if you wish to participate in both.

1) Eraser Challenge: Write at least one thousand words in an AU that you haven't written in at least a month. For the sake of simplicity, we will define month as thirty days.

2) Seed Beads Challenge: Write at least one thousand words about a character that you haven't written in at least a month. This character need not actually qualify for seed beads; we just called it that because we figured you write about your major characters a lot.


Qualifying stories may be posted any time between today and next Sunday, April 15th. Post a link to your story here and a note as to which challenge it qualifies for, and one of the mods will give you your novelty bead. Bring back those forgotten AUs and characters! Happy writing!

Question: Does the character (for the second option, since I definitely don't have any qualifying AUs) have to be one I've written about for rainbowfic, or just one I've written about before?

Just one you've written about before. We're a young community yet, and so many people are still new (and there isn't a lot of fic, total, in the comm), that we can't ask that people limit themselves. Just have it be a character you haven't written in at least a month.

We definitely want people to be able to participate. Next time around (which won't be for probably a year), we'll limit to characters from the comm, but that's another year of growth. Now, it's just not fair.

You could do an entire color scheme themed around Passover, tbh, there are that many symbolic items related to it! :)
