All right, guys, let's get this started.

This is a post for members to post their burning questions to each other. They can be simple, like "when is Character X's birthday," or not so simple "how would you define the relationship between Character X and Character Y?" If there's a story you want that author to talk about, throw in the title (and some points you'd like covered!) and if said author's willing, they can write their answer in a separate post, since I have no idea what the comment word limits are.

Here's how it'll work: an author who's up for answering questions/writing commentaries about stories will leave their name in a comment. Readers who want to ask questions or request stories reply to that comment, and hopefully we'll have some good conversations going!

If you guys request stories, it may be best if you limit them to rainbowfic for the time being, unless the story you've got archived outside the comm is in a public entry.

EDIT: If it's not already obvious, you can ask authors more than one question in however many comments you like. The point is to have a discussion, and it wouldn't be very lively if it stopped at one question per author! Just give the author a chance to finish answering your previous questions, of course.

It all started with Johnny, technically, though in terms of existing in some form or another, Eva and Adamo are actually a couple months older.

Back in the day (circa 2006), we had this House RP that involved a magical portal bringing patients from all over, which made it panfandom. We used to like to do random AU threads, to the point where we decided we needed a separate comm for it. Johnny originated here--he started out as dating Chase's OC brother. He was not involved in the business, he did not originally have much of an accent, and he was a firefighter. Rereading his old threads, a lot of his original motives are now Stefano's--he was actually kind of estranged from the family.

Anyway, in one thread, he mentions having a shitton of siblings, and in another, names them. Torey and Gina Sophia didn't exist yet, and while Adamo and Eva did exist, they were not related.

They started out vastly different. David was actually kind of nice and familial. He called Nic "sis". His first wife went through about three different names (she was Rosa at some point for sure, I remember that) and he actually liked her. Romeo had an accent like current!Johnny. Vito was the smarter one, out of Vito and Gino. Teresa was neurotypical and lived in Chicago. Is lived in California and worked as a professor. Nic also had something of an accent. Oh, and they were all from New Jersey. Here, have a snippet:

"In age order... Lea's married to a firefighter I used to work with. Hispanic guy. She's a stay-at-home ma, got five kids, fits about every stereotype you can think of for an Italian mother. Teresa's an artist. She moved to Chicago to, get this, get away from mob life, which if you know anything about the Mafia and the Corlionis, wasn't the best move."

"David..." Johnny's face darkened briefly. "He's in the life. Unless anyone objects, he and a few others'll be getting all the illegal holdings so I don't have to deal with it. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy. Unless you cross him. He's most like the old man. Not as many kids yet, though. I don't know Romeo as well. He teaches high school in Queens. Math. He's got a couple of kids. Leonardo learned the cheating side of the law from Pop before law school, works for the family. Married, two kids. Nicoletta's only a couple months younger. She's also in with the family, lot like David. She's not married, but to Arianna's--her mother's--everlasting shame, she's got three kids. Then Isabella--she's teaching history at Stanford, associate professor. Stefano's like Link can be, kinda sullen, kinda angry, good at heart. Far as I know, he's single, firefighting last I heard but looking at becoming a cop. Mina just finished her residency in upstate New York. She's doing a fellowship in cardiology. Gino's in Sicily, probably working with the family but I don't know, and Vito--not much younger--is running one of the side businesses. Considered going to South America for something, but didn't because his girlfriend got pregnant. Cristina's here at Princeton, last year of business--she'll probably go into the life after she gets her MBA. Elisabetta put off school--she's an EMT. Against the life, even if Gino and Cristina are in it. Then there's Eva and you. Maria's last. She's in high school in Brooklyn."

Go ahead. Just count how many things up there are now wrong. =P

Adamo and Eva were brought in as related in a random plot pretty soon after Johnny's conception, followed by Gina Sophia. In terms of existence, Torey is by far the youngest--he didn't come around until mid 2008. He went from non-existent, to miscarriage, to died as a baby before Johnny was born, to died while Johnny was a baby, to alive and developed, and by that point, we realized he was super awesome and he needed to stick around.

We kept playing with them, basically, is what happened. They were divided up for development, which is why you might have noticed that we each tend to write certain characters as 'ours'. They're all shared, but it's just that if you have a question about, say, Stefano, it's best to ask Geena, a question about Isabella, you'd come to me, and a question about Johnny, you'd go to Kelly.

So. Um. There's all that. Any other questions? XD

I dare you to write an AU where Stefano became a cop. Because that would be AMAZING.

Also. ALL THE THINGS. ALL THE THINGS OH MY GOD. I can't. I just. Character development.

I think the only thing as radical for me is that Danny at one point was supposed to be dating Aaron. Oh, and Joy was supposed to be a very minor character.
