P.S. We're always looking for more Novelty Bead sources. If you know of a prompt generator, list of songs, quote site, or anything else that might be used as a prompt resource, please do leave a comment. Thanks!

Hey guys! In Like a Lion finished yesterday, so feel free to collect your novelty beads in this post.

Our second challenge, Out Like a Lamb, begins today. From now until March 31st (again, the next two weeks), write a story about a character being serene. You'll receive one novelty bead for every five hundred words.

Let's kick off Dada right with a little challenge I call In Like a Lion.

From now until March 15th (so the next two weeks), write a story about a character being angry. You'll receive one novelty bead for every five hundred words.

Things are a little upsetting in the world right now, so let's reflect that in our spring challenge, Dada.

Sign up by leaving a comment in this post with your goal--make sure it's a challenge for you, but otherwise there are no upper or lower limits. Sign-ups are open from today until March 15th. Once you've posted your goal, you have until May 24th (coincidentally, a mod's birthday) to meet it. Meeting your goal gets you twenty novelty beads. Exceeding it by one-half or one-third (whichever is easier to calculate, as heat makes mods lazy) will get you another five novelty beads per half or third.

If you have any questions, ask away!

Come one, come all, collect yer novelty beads!

Valentine's Day Pink lists are due today. If you completed the saturation or the list or both (!!) leave a comment here to receive your prompts.

Tomorrow: a new art movement and some special challenges.

So! For the Valentine's Day challenge, I figured out what I want to do for my saturation (I might also do it as a full/regular color list, but for sure the saturation will happen). And, for my planned project, I need suggestions!

Hello, writers! Let's do a Valentine's challenge. Why? Because I thought it might be fun.

Below the cut is a special color. You may complete it as a saturation (for three novelty beads) or a list (for five novelty beads) or both (for ten novelty beads). Saturations are due Valentine's Day, February 14th. Lists are due at the end of the month, February 28th.

Let us go forth and write together!

Whew! 2016 is finally over. I hope everyone is doing amazing. Sorry this post is a bit late, but two of the mods have a new house tradition (OK, it's new for me)-- cleaning all of the things!

So, what are you awesome writer goals for the new year? Do you need some inspirational poking? Doing that January free write meme that's going around and could use some extra promptness? Just want to blither on about your recent spat of bat research for a while?

We all know each other OR MAYBE WE DON'T but anyway, we stuck it out another year. Let's rap.

Thank you all for being wonderful. And kicking NaNo butt, as I've heard.

From now until the 31st of December, we are running a special challenge...

Complete any challenge we have ever offered. Any challenge at all. Then assign yourself a number of novelty beads for completing it on a scale of one to ten. Claim here. +1 bonus novelty bead per month if it's a story you've been working on for more than a month.

Go forth, my writerly friends.

Finish them.

Hey, we're writers. Are you doing something for NaNoWriMo, even if its a rebellious thing? We're here to support you and provide random drabble prompts to keep your creativity stoked through the most exciting month of the year.

-Check-in threads on the 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th

Plus anything else you might want. Feel free to make suggestions.

So, what are everybody's plans for this November?

I forgot to ask for them yesterday but I am totally willing to take all your prompts to celebrate the fact that I am not dead yet.

Hello friends and writers! As of... Thursday, actually, our amnesty weeks for the Summer Olympics are over, and our next art movement has begun!

Sign up by leaving a comment in this post with your goal. This goal can be anything you want: a word count, a number of colors, finishing that pesky story, anything, just so long as it's a challenge for you. Sign-ups are open from now until October 1st. You will have until December 20th to complete your goal. Meeting your goal gets you twenty novelty beads, and exceeding your goal by one third or one quarter (whatever's easier to calculate) gets you five more.

Don't forget to collect your novelty beads from the Summer Olympics!

Alas, my dears, our Olympics are over, and didn't we have fun? I, at least, had a fabulous time. But every ending is another beginning, and this one begins our two Amnesty Weeks (two, because there was a lot of stuff to do this summer).

Beginning today and ending September 15th, complete any challenge from the entire Olympics and get credit as if you'd done it during the designated time.

Don't forget to collect your novelty beads!

I turned 28 on the 29th (!!!), but I was too busy celebrating to post on the day of, so... Belated birthday prompts? XD

We've come to the end of our Summer Olympics, my friends. Let's finish them off with a bang in our Closing Ceremonies.

From today through the 31st of August, post a Frame story. Receive a novelty bead for a story 0-500 words, and an extra bead for every extra five hundred words.

Continuing through this week:

Lap Swimming: Write the same story four times, as a miniature, a 500-1000 word story, a 1000-5000 word story, and a 5000-10k story. Earn ten novelty beads for completing the entire event.

Hurdles: Give another author a saturation to write. They will give you one as well. Whoever finishes first, wins the match. Ten novelty beads for the winner, five for the second-place.

Synchronized Swimming: Pick a partner and do some interactive art! Receive a novelty bead for a story 0-500 words, and an extra bead for every extra five hundred words.

Triathalon: Over the course of the summer post a miniature, a portrait, and a mural. Earn ten novelty beads for completing the entire event.

The special color, Olympic Gold, and the Summer Blockbuster event also continue.

If you don't have a partner for the events requiring such and still want one, use this post. Don't forget to claim your novelty beads for the Opening Ceremonies, also at that post, for the Pentathalon at this post, Gymnastics at this post, Rhythm Gymnastics at this post, and Shooting, Boxing, and Fencing at this post!

Please collect your Lilith Faire beads at this post here, not the Lilith Faire one(s). I'd like to have them all in one place. Thank you!

The final day of Lilith Faire. Enjoy it!

Main Stage: Supergirl, Krystal Harris
Second Stage: Follow Your Arrow, Kacey Musgraves
Village Stage: Angels & Airwaves, Angel Haze <-- suicide mention in this one.

ETA: It has come to my attention that Angel Haze is actually agender, not female. This is completely on me, and I apologize for misgendering them. It was never my intention. The song still qualifies for Lilith Faire since it's a bit late to fix it, but I do want to reiterate my apology and assure you folks that I will not misgender them again.
