Welcome to our first challenge of the summer film festival! This is Red Carpet.

Every day this week, I or another mod will post a picture of an outfit. Write a story inspired somehow by that outfit. Interpret 'inspired' however you like. You have seven days to post a story from the time the outfit is posted-- so, you can post a story inspired by today's outfit anytime until Monday, June 19th. Finally, for each story you post, receive one novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof.

Everybody ready? Here we go!

Good afternoon, writers! Today, June 8th, ends Amnesty Week for Dada, but more importantly, it begins a brand new challenge: our summer Film Festival.

The Film Festival runs from today, June 8th, until August 31st. Events begin Monday, June 12th, with Red Carpet.

Special colors )

Also, members should feel free to make and post their own challenges! The mods will fulfill any novelty bead winnings as long as the challenges are film-based; otherwise, you're on your own for rewards.

Any questions? Ask us here!

PILGRIMS!

...oh, come on, USian members, surely at some point in school you did the rhyme? April showers bring May flowers, and May flowers bring... pilgrims? Surely?

No?

Oh, well, I'm the mod and I do what I want.

This June, post something in a historical AU. Receive a novelty bead per 500 words or fraction thereof. I look forward to see what you come up with!

Post here to receive your novelty beads from May Flowers, or with any other questions.

Dada is officially over as of June 1st, which means Amnesty Week has begun! Post anything for any of the challenges this spring and receive the appropriate novelty beads.

Post here to let us know how you did on your challenge! Meeting your goal gets you twenty novelty beads. Exceeding it by one-half or one-third (whichever is easier to calculate, as heat makes mods lazy) will get you another five novelty beads per half or third. Remember you have until June 7th to complete your challenge, if you haven't done it already.

Watch this space for our summer challenge!

Hey guys!

One of our members has suggested an excellent Style idea that we would really like to put into practice! However, we the mods are having some difficulties coming up with another Style to keep things even. So we are now soliciting ideas for new Supplies and Styles! Leave your suggestions in this post.

Thank you in advance!

You knew this was coming.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in April Showers! Pick up your novelty beads in this post, and if you didn't quite finish something, remember that Amnesty Week is coming up at the end of May. :D

Now for the special May challenge: May Flowers! This will last until May 31st.

Complete one of the following colors as a list (five novelty beads), a saturation (three novelty beads) or both (ten novelty beads). Stories can be any length: the novelty beads are fixed. Stories for this challenge are graffiti.

If you do more than one color, or if you somehow manage to do all the colors, the mods will come up for something special for you, because damn.

Color Options:

Lavender
Daffodil
Lotus
Lilac
Rose
crossfortune: enkidu, fate (something in your fabric ties you here)

Hey guys! In Like a Lion finished yesterday, so feel free to collect your novelty beads in this post.

Our second challenge, Out Like a Lamb, begins today. From now until March 31st (again, the next two weeks), write a story about a character being serene. You'll receive one novelty bead for every five hundred words.

Let's kick off Dada right with a little challenge I call In Like a Lion.

From now until March 15th (so the next two weeks), write a story about a character being angry. You'll receive one novelty bead for every five hundred words.

Things are a little upsetting in the world right now, so let's reflect that in our spring challenge, Dada.

Sign up by leaving a comment in this post with your goal--make sure it's a challenge for you, but otherwise there are no upper or lower limits. Sign-ups are open from today until March 15th. Once you've posted your goal, you have until May 24th (coincidentally, a mod's birthday) to meet it. Meeting your goal gets you twenty novelty beads. Exceeding it by one-half or one-third (whichever is easier to calculate, as heat makes mods lazy) will get you another five novelty beads per half or third.

If you have any questions, ask away!

Come one, come all, collect yer novelty beads!

Valentine's Day Pink lists are due today. If you completed the saturation or the list or both (!!) leave a comment here to receive your prompts.

Tomorrow: a new art movement and some special challenges.

So! For the Valentine's Day challenge, I figured out what I want to do for my saturation (I might also do it as a full/regular color list, but for sure the saturation will happen). And, for my planned project, I need suggestions!
